COUNSELING FOR WOMEN IN SOUTH DENVER METRO AND ONLINE ACROSS COLORADO

Support for pregnancy, motherhood, midlife, caregiving, and cancer — when life feels harder than expected

Life can look fine on the outside while feeling overwhelming or quietly off on the inside.

You’re used to having it together. But lately something feels off — you’re feeling worn down, stretched too thin, less certain, and not quite like yourself.

I help thoughtful, capable women navigate changes in their life or health — including pregnancy, motherhood, relationship changes, menopause, or a cancer diagnosis — so they can feel less anxious, more confident in their direction, and live more like themselves again.

You’re here because

You are used to having it all figured out—until suddenly, you don’t.

Whether you are navigating a life change, a health diagnosis, or have a quiet sense that something feels off, things don’t feel as manageable as they once did.

You may be the one others rely on. It can feel unsettling to realize you’re the one who needs support.

You might find yourself:

  • Having less patience in parenting or other relationship moments that matter

  • Second-guessing yourself — as a parent, partner, or person

  • Feeling anxious for no clear reason

  • Having trouble focusing or taking pleasure in things you used to enjoy

  • Carrying the weight of cancer—your own or someone else’s

  • Trying to stay strong while feeling depleted

  • Feeling disconnected, down, or less engaged in your own life

Even if everything looks fine on the outside, something has shifted. And you’re ready for support that feels calm, real, and grounded.

You may be:

  • Struggling with the emotional weight of pregnancy, postpartum, or parenting — at any stage

  • Navigating shifting relationships or family roles that leave you feeling off balance

  • Facing a midlife transition, like menopause or an empty nest, that is harder than you expected

  • Managing the impact of cancer — whether you're newly diagnosed, in survivorship, or caregiving for someone you love

  • Feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck in a stage of life that doesn’t look “bad” from the outside, but feels heavy inside

You’ve changed — and what used to help just isn’t enough anymore.

These aren’t just surface-level stressors. They’re real, meaningful changes that can leave you feeling unsure of yourself. And you deserve space to sort through them with support that meets you where you are.

Erica Westphal, LMFT, PMH-C. Offering Women's therapy in Denver Metro and online across colorado. Offers counseling for Life transitions, parenting, cancer support.

Hi, I’m Erica. You don’t need to be in crisis to ask for support.

New seasons of life — from motherhood to menopause to a cancer diagnosis — can leave even the most capable women feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or disconnected.

Sometimes it’s loud and obvious. Other times, it’s a quiet sense that something just feels off.

As a wife, mother, and cancer survivor, I bring both professional training and lived understanding into the room. I believe therapy should be supportive, nonjudgmental, and ultimately real — a space where you don’t have to perform, explain, or be anyone but yourself.

When life gets difficult, we can’t always eliminate uncertainty or hard emotions. Instead, our work focuses on helping you relate to them differently — so you can move forward in ways that feel meaningful and authentic to you.

We’ll work to identify what matters most, notice the patterns that keep you stuck, and take steady, practical steps toward change.

You deserve care that meets you where you are. All walks of life welcome. LGBTQIA+ friendly.

My specialties

Support for women who don’t usually ask for help

I offer compassionate, grounded support for women facing:

  • Big life changes or identity shifts

  • The emotional weight of pregnancy, postpartum, or parenting

  • The personal or relational impact of cancer — whether you’re in treatment, recovery, or caregiving

You can explore more about each of these here.

  • A career move, relationship shift, menopause, or a child leaving home can leave you feeling unsteady, disconnected, or not quite yourself anymore. What used to feel manageable can start to feel heavy, confusing, or hard to name.

Therapy can be a grounded space to slow down, make sense of what’s changed, and begin to feel more anchored again.

  • Whether you’re navigating pregnancy, the early newborn days, toddlerhood, or parenting older children, you may feel stretched thin or emotionally off‑balance — even when you love your child deeply.

This work can stir up self‑doubt, fatigue, identity shifts, or a sense that you should “just be handling it.” Therapy creates a supportive space to process what’s coming up, make sense of these changes, and learn to feel more confident in your evolving role.

  • A diagnosis, treatment, survivorship, or caregiving can bring fear, uncertainty, shifts in identity, and emotional load that aren’t always easy to talk about with friends or family.

Therapy offers a grounded, non‑judgmental space to explore what you’re feeling, make sense of what’s changed, and find steadiness amid unpredictability. Whether you’re navigating your own health or caring for someone you love, your experience matters — and support can make a real difference.
